supporting the financial reporting function for one of more
entities with Providence Health Plan (PHP). This position is
primarily responsible for the preparation of quarterly and annual
financial statements, regulatory filings, and supporting schedules
in compliance with both internal and external reporting
requirements. The role requires a high level of accuracy,
initiative and the ability to work independently on moderately to
highly complex accounting assignments. The ideal candidate will
demonstrate sound judgment, strong analytical skills, and effective
communication while ensuring timely and accurate financial
reporting. Providence Health Plan welcomes 100% remote work for

Washington California Please note the following important detail
regarding this role: Support the preparation of the quarterly and
annual financial statement, including schedules and workpapers for
internal and external reporting. Assist with the preparation of
National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Filings and
ensure compliance with statutory accounting principles (SAP).
Demonstrate the ability to independently roll forward existing
workpapers, gather supporting data, and prepare accurate analyses
with minimal supervision; includes applying critical thinking to
understand and explain results. Collaborate with internal teams and
external partners to gather information and verify data for
regulatory reports. Prepares statutory fluctuation analyses and
evaluate period-over-period variances, ensuring alignment with
business activity; includes conducting research and collaborating
with cross-functional departments as needed. Attend and contribute
to reoccurring reporting meetings with internal and external
partners to provide updates on status and collaborate on technical
accounting matters. Main and update the Prepared by Client (PBC)
listings to meet internal reporting requirements. Create, maintain,
and improve desktop procedures and documentation for recurring
tasks and workflows. Prepares accurate and timely reinsurance
journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in alignment with
month-end close processes. Manage workload independently and
prioritize completing deadlines effectively. Keep management
informed of project statuses, emerging issues, and significant
transactions. Lead or contribute to recurring daily/weekly
meetings, including sharing updates and proposing solutions. Assist
in special projects and other duties as assigned, including
continuous process improvement initiatives. Utilize advanced
Microsoft Excel skills, including functions such as VLOOKUP,
INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, and other various formulas to
efficiently analyze data and prepare financial schedules. Strong
verbal and written communication skills are essential. Familiarity
with NAIC Health Statement Filings and statutory reporting is
strongly preferred. Required qualifications for this position
include: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or another related
field of study Preferred qualifications for this position include:
2 years of experience in accounting or finance Experience in Access
software Experience in Health Care Industry Experience preparing
journal entries and reconciling account balances Experience with
computerized financial applications and Microsoft office

the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for
this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime,
premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
