Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours (6:30 AM -
4:30 PM) Experience: Acute care hospital experience within the past
5 years required License: Oregon RN license required (must be
willing to obtain if not active) Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS
(AHA) Must-Have: ACLS and BLS certification required Description:
Within the RN scope of practice as defined by the state board of
nursing, applies the nursing process to the care of patients.
Teaches patients and significant others. Documents patient care in
the medical record. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to
effectively coordinate overall care of the patient. Conducts
specialized examinations in cardiac catheterization, peripheral
vascular studies, and/or electrophysiology studies. Serves as a
lead worker and resource to medical and clinical staff as needed to
ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities.
Collaborates with the intra-procedure team to provide safe patient
care. Participates consistently in Universal Protocol and site
marking identification when applicable. Assists with
identification, preparation, and draping of patients, and room
preparation for routine procedures. Reads physicians'
orders/protocols and communicates with physicians on protocols for
routine procedures if necessary. Selects equipment in accordance
with the protocols and regulatory standards to ensure patient
comfort and satisfaction. Maintains and calibrates equipment,
instituting and recording all preventive maintenance procedures.
Troubleshoots and reports issues, seeking repair to maintain
equipment operability. Conducts maintenance on special procedures
equipment and calibrates such equipment prior to each procedure.
Instructs technologists in the operation of special procedures
equipment as needed to ensure quality care for patients. Identifies
ways to improve work processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
Makes recommendations to supervisors and implements monitoring of
results as appropriate in support of department goals. Stays
abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in
cardiovascular technology. Attends seminars/workshops, reads
professional journals, and participates in professional
organizations. Integrates knowledge gained into current work
practices. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations,
policies, and guidelines that impact cardiovascular technology.
Revises procedures for repeated use of special procedures equipment
and develops effective internal controls. Promotes adherence to
applicable state and federal laws and accreditation agencies'
requirements. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure
