Job Description AP/CP Board Certified Surgical Pathologist needed near Portland, Oregon A leading independent pathology services and cancer diagnostics company is seeking an AP/CP Board Certified Surgical Pathologist to join our hospital-based laboratory in Oregon near Portland and Eugene. The practice serves four Hospital systems and numerous clinics and individual practitioners in the area. As a primary diagnostic center, the pathology material is always interesting and sometimes quite challenging. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with a broad range of surgical pathology cases, GYN and non-GYN cytopathology, performance and interpretation of bone marrow biopsies and frozen sections. Subspecialty expertise in Breast Pathology or Gastrointestinal Pathology preferred. Experience serving as a Medical Director of a clinical or histology laboratory highly valued. Excellent interpersonal skills are a must. - The group consists of 7 pathologists – 5 FT, 2 PT. - Last Year's Volumes – 40k accessions - Approximately 45% hospital, 65% outreach (heavy in GI). They do both Gyn and non-gyn cytology. - Do rotate and cover all hospitals - vacation coverage - Perform a small number of autopsies (6-10/year) - Call - once every 5 weeks *Salary of $250K - $300K/year depending on experience and subspecialty. Applicants must hold an MD or DO degree, be board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and be eligible for an unrestricted Oregon license.
