Sysco, a global leader in the foodservice industry, is seeking an experienced Day Transportation Supervisor with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to oversee daily transportation operations. This role focuses on ensuring efficient and safe delivery of food products to our diverse clientele, which includes restaurants, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and fleet management, coupled with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and customer service. Manage the day-to-day operations of a fleet of commercial delivery vehicles. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding transportation and workplace safety. Supervise a team of CDL drivers; schedule shifts, route planning, and ensure proper training and licensing. Conduct periodic safety drills and training sessions to ensure driver preparedness and knowledge of latest safety practices. Monitor vehicle maintenance programs to ensure all fleets are in top operational condition. Develop strategies to reduce operational costs while maintaining high service standards. Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, including delivery logs, route details, and driver compliance. Handle emergency situations or delays and make logistical adjustments as necessary. Strong leadership and personnel management skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Proficient in using transportation management software and tools. In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and customers.
