Job Description:

Position Summary
Responsible for scheduling and registering outpatients for Wound Care Services; verifying insurance pre-authorizations and completing reauthorizations; auditing and copying chart documentation for billing and coding; entering daily charges; obtaining required physician signatures and orders; updating monthly recurring accounts; performing secretarial duties, data collection and miscellaneous duties as assigned for Wound Care and Admitting -Services.
Minimum Qualifications

• 
  
• High school graduate or equivalent
  
• One year scheduling and/or secretarial experience in the medical field preferred.
  
• Computer skills: proficient in Word and Excel
  
• Medical terminology preferred.
  
• Ability to perform secretarial duties including completion of reports, letters and policy and procedure formulation.
  
• Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with constantly changing work demands.
  
• Excellent customer service skills
  
  Essential Job Functions
  
  • 
    
  • Schedules outpatients for Wound Care Services.
    
  • Coordinates and prioritizes all information concerning the patients, physicians, insurance carriers and department staff.
    
  • Performs general administrative and clerical duties.
    
  • Registers patients.
    
  • Insurance Verification/Pre-Authorization
